I am beginning to think that I have a serious obsession with English fashion.
My latest obsession now are the Underground Creepers. I found that the first time I saw them which was in Rihanna’s video We Found Love that I fell into love. It might have had something to do with the fact that Rihanna was wearing them but then I knew for sure that it was a personal love.
The funkiness that these shoes would entail one to have to pull them off. Well… Lets just say I can’t wait to put them together with an outfit.
Creepers, as any new fashion accessory or piece of clothing has a long history as to why it came into being. These to die for shoes dates back to World War II, when soldiers needed shoes with a hard sole that could survive the harsh climate and the rugged terrain.
Underground England since then has been making the “creeper” style of shoe since the 1980s and they are becoming increasingly popular.
My personal faves though? I would have to say definitely the double and the wedge. I have seen some pretty funky variations of this shoe and I must say I LOVEEEE how it looks as a boot. The versatility of the shoe just begs to be worn and not to mention, who wouldn’t want a boost in height without wearing a pair of 6″ heels? :))
Below i’m going to put together a look I think reflects who I am and my fashionistic (word?!) side.
So with the Purple Suede Leopard Wulfrun Creepers I decided to pair them with a turquoise buttoned down crop top and a dip dyed over sized jacket. I said plain black leggings would not offset the outfit and I decided gold would be the best accessory. So you see the spiked gold Shambala bracelet with the gold chain and “fuck off” ring.
Creepers are the perfect shoe porn. They provide you with the choice to go casual, laid back or even elegantly casual. Just play it up or dress it down. It’s up to you! With a wide variety in heights, colors and styles you can never get bored with these fabulous shoes.
That’s it for me and my shoe porn tonight.
Cheers all you fashionistas!!!!! xoxo
“When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work. I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that’s a little off, but I have to figure it out. I have to make it me. I think that’s the thrill in fashion.” – Rihanna
